COLLEEN CAVANAUGH, Esq.
Colleen A. Cavanaugh, who is now of counsel to the firm, has been affiliated with the firm for over seven years. She was admitted to the practice of law in 1992. After retiring from her position as a full-time associate with Shar, Rosen & Warshaw to raise her
children, Ms. Cavanuagh returned in an of counsel capacity in 2000. Ms. Cavanaugh’s practice focuses on appellate writing and argument, estate planning and administration, family law, and guardianship matters. She also assists the firm in matters of complex civil litigation. She has argued in federal and state courts of appeals. Most notably, she served as co-counsel in Popa v. West American Insurance, Co. and Imbesi v. Carpenter Realty, Inc. two cases that resulted in published opinions that altered existing insurance and probate law in Maryland.
Ms. Cavanaugh is a graduate of the American University and the University of Maryland School of Law. She is a member of the bar for the State of Maryland, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Cavanaugh is also a member of the Baltimore County Bar Association.
